that Neptune Paddles will be donating a paddle to Giampaolo Cammarota’s Ho’okipa Rockstar contest!

The winner has the dubious honor of being the person who goes on the rocks breaking gear/or not! the most number of times for a winter season at Ho’okipa Beach Parkon the Northshore of Maui Hawaii, starting from the last swell on 8/30-9/1/2009 going until sometime in April/May of 2010.

There maybe multiple categories for prize winners such as, most time in one day, highest dollar value of gear lost during a session/season, who knows….it is up to GP I guess.

The contest is based on the original Northshore Kuau Cup, which I belive starts this weekend going until 4/20/2010. It is awarded to the one who has to swim their gear back in either thru the channel or have to come ashore in a less than desirable spot…especially if it is big, as in 15+ foot wave faces.

Here is a little video I put together from some pictures a friend Joe took on session #2 of a Dawn patrol starting at 5:30 till 7:30, and then right back out for the hour photo shoot……I was wiped out…… but soooo stoked that I got a few nice out of season North shore gems!
